Meet Our Library Clerk
My name is Debbie Romano. I am an Arizona native who loves our beautiful state. I have lived all over the Phoenix area, including being one of the original 400 homeowners in Anthem. I was not only raised in Arizona public schools but have proudly supported my own two children as they navigated the Deer Valley Unified School District from Kindergarten through to high school - all while we called Stetson Hills our home for over 20 years.
I graduated from Arizona State University in 1992 with a degree in Education and spent most of my career in corporate leadership and Human Resources but feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to return to my roots and run a school library. It's truly the most rewarding and joyful work of my life. I absolutely love children and their unfiltered passion for exploration, feeling and discovery. We should all be so fortunate to feel the passionate joy of a child who loves a book!

There are no fines for overdue items; however, charges apply for lost or damaged materials before check-out privileges resume
Lost / Damaged books
LOST BOOKS
Books that are not returned on-time and/or renewed are marked as Overdue. Books that remain overdue for over a week will be changed to Lost. The cost for a lost book will be added to the student's account. The student/parent can either pay the book or purchase the missing book in "like kind and quality" and bring it to the LMC to replace the book that is missing.
Students with lost books will not be able to checkout additional books until their book fines have been paid.
All fees / book fines can be paid online via the Online Payment portal.
DAMAGED BOOKS
Books with minor damage can usually easily be repaired at no cost; however if the damage to the book cannot be repaired, the cost of the book will be charged to the student's account until the book is either replaced (in like condition) or paid for in full. If a book in your possession has damage, take it to the LMC to determine if it can be fixed.

Game Show Lunch
Students who have accumulated at least 50 Hawk Bucks may select THREE friends and participate in Blackhawk Games! Once students have finished their lunch and cleaned up, Ms. Debbie will host a GAME SHOW of your choice!
Find Ms. Romano's store on the HAWK Store to make a purchase. Once approved, a large blue "ticket" will be given to your homeroom teacher with your assigned Game Show date in the LMC. If you are unable to attend on the date you are assigned, go talk to Ms. Debbie in the LMC to reschedule.
Dates are often assigned weeks in advance, and students who forget and "miss" their assigned date will not be rescheduled unless the student who made the purchase is out sick on the scheduled date. So mark your calendar for your assigned date.
***Scheduled Game Show events will not be held on Heat Advisory or Rainy Day Schedule days, and students will be rescheduled for a future date***
