Mrs. Lisa Martin RN

Lisa Martin graduated as an R.N. in 1984. For the first few years of her career she worked as a neuro-surgical nurse taking care of severe head and spinal chord injuries as well as patients with strokes, seizures and other neurological disorders. She was also part of the trauma team responding to resuscitation events at St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla Washington. For the next few years she worked at both Shriners and Doernbechers Pediatric hospitals in Portland Oregon where she acquired her love of working with children. She also worked in other areas that include labor and delivery, oncology, aesthetics and surgery. After taking a short break from nursing to have children, she returned to work as the office manager and nurse of an OBGYN clinic in Klamath Falls Oregon. She then moved to Phoenix Arizona and managed an ophthalmology surgery center and worked as a surgical and recovery nurse. She started her school nursing experience at Sunrise Elementary school in Phoenix, Arizona. She was very excited to move to New River in 2016 and continue her nursing at Desert Mountain School. She has four children and loves to cook, do crafts, read, hike, bird watch, and garden.
