Ms. Brunk's Welcome Back Message

Dear Blackhawk Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I am honored to begin another exciting year as the proud principal of Desert Mountain School. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome to each of you.

Last year was filled with meaningful growth, student achievement, and community connection—and we are just getting started! From our high performance on district assessments to the incredible energy at our monthly Blackhawk Bonanzas and our inaugural Agriculture Career Expo, our students, staff, and families showed what it means to rise together.

This year, our theme is "The Road to Greatness," and we are committed to paving that road with high expectations, strong relationships, and a culture of kindness, curiosity, and resilience. Our dedicated staff has been hard at work preparing for an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for all students.

Please be sure to stay connected through our school newsletters, website, and social media, where we will continue to share important updates and highlights throughout the year. I also encourage you to attend school events, join our PTO, and reach out with any questions or ideas. We truly believe that when schools and families work together, students thrive.
