Gifted Testing

Gifted testing is administered three times each year.  In the fall testing is available to Kinder, 1st, and 3rd-12th.  In the winter 2nd grade receives blanket testing.  In the spring testing is again available to Kinder, 1st, and 3rd-12th.

Students can only be tested once a calendar year, so the they are not exposed to the same test twice.  DVUSD uses the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT).  Kindergarten tests are administered paper and pencil while all other grades are administered on-line.  Once the scheduled testing window closes results are generated and mailed home by district office.

Winter and Spring testing qualifies students for placement during the following school year.
